Ohhhh I love her!! I am really worried I got my first silky as a pet, outdoor pet obviously, then realized he was lonely so I got another chick, Half of the people say my new chick is rooster the other half say hen,,,I absolutely cannot get a third, if they are both roosters can they live together just the two of them, they get along so good all day everyday ,,,,,I really don't want to give them away, advice please?

You seem to have experience , please help hen or roo?View attachment 1162831 View attachment 1162832
How old? My 6 mo pullet just started laying & has a slightly smaller comb. (Not much wrinkles either)
If younger than 5-6 mo old = rooster.
If older & with a comb that large, I'd expect to see eggs. No eggs = boy.

No crowing doesn't always mean female. Sometimes males can take 6-7 months to crow, but others make pitiful attempts while still in the brooder. LOL

If you do not have hens, then 2 boys should get along fine. (Nothing for them to strut, compete for, or fight over.)

Neighbors & crowing could be a concern if you live close to your neighbors. Also lack of eggs could be an issue.

I have 2 silkies and somewhat new to chickens (just since June). For the life of me I cannot seem to sex these two! They appear to be twins LOL so I think whatever they are.. they're either 2 pullets or 2 roos. They're just about 4 1/2 months old. Help me! First 2 pictures is 1 of them... 2nd 2 pictures is the other one.. Neither have crowed.. but they did start fighting with each other in the last few days. Some of the known hens busted in and tried to break it up but they kept going. Sure hoping that doesn't mean they're roos, but here they are anyways!

Opinions, please!!! Do I have a boy or girl?? This is Yoda, and Yoda is 5 months old. Despite the bird standing sort of low for the picture, Yoda usually likes to stand up nice and straight and tall. More like a boy. Would a girl do this too??? But there is no comb yet?? I'm totally fooled here!! At 5 months of age... shouldn't I know by now??! ha!!
