PTO vs Ground Drive

Not sure I understand the question?

The forcart pictured appears to be it's own ground drive power unit.
Yes, it SHOULD run a pto driven unit.

I'm into my safety. PTO or ground unit...I want turned completely off
unless in use. If I step off my tractor for any reason, you can bet it is
turned OFF and brakes locked.

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will chime in? I may be wrong here.

"Ground Drive" appears to be a term referring to the ability of a the operator
to be in control of the object from a distance. In the instance of this cart you're
asking about, to me it refers to the LEGENTH of the drawbar.

For example while you are driving your horse, this cart is being pulled behind you.
You can not reach the controls without moving.

Verses my PTO controls on the farm tractor...within handreach at all times.

Doesn't say in the ad, but is that a 12 foot drawbar for instance? But no...
this unit does NOT recieve its power from mowing. It is a fully operational motor driven
unit that MAKES power to operate another piece of equipment.

Do you mind? What is it you're looking for? Horse drawn power equipment?

The ground drive refers to the fact that the wheels turning on the ground are what powers the pto. In other words, if the cart isn't moving the pto isn't turning.

Quickly looking around, it appears that I am wrong.

"Ground drive" comes in various forms, both with motors and without.

What is the exact point then?

Does the horse supply the power to run a mower unit? Some kind of
gear driven reduction system?

But quick online reading gives you both pro and con views.

Me, I like my diesel tractor.

Ground drive is when the action of the implement is done by the wheels turning as it is pulled, PTO is power supplied by a power take off shaft from the machine doing the pulling. If the implement hits something hard and/or the ground is slipperry the wheels will quit turning. Ground drive implements are usually pulled by means without a PTO like a manure spreader but a rototiller neads a pto because it works harder. Hope this helps.

The attachment looks to be a device to convert implements designed for tractor pulled to horse drawn. Kind of an universal hitch.
