Pinterest??? - Page 2

I too looked at pinterest, a librarian friend of mine raved about it.  I think I would rather browse BYC;). Just couldn't get in to it.

Did you mean at a glance here or did you actually go to the site and glance?  I know what you mean about bookmarks. I keep telling myself that I'm going to organize mine one of these days

Nah, haven't checked out the site, just meant glancing over what was posted about it here.  Seriously, they are terrible.  XD  My husband downloaded some sort of bookmark program for me that allows me to categorize them pretty neatly at least.

I didn't like it at first.  I had trouble getting the "pin it" button on my computer, (a Mac), and it frustrated me.  But, now that I'm used to the site, I do find some great ideas on it.  It's not got too much about chickens, yet, maybe i should change it

That is not the case.  You can choose to sign in via your Facebook or Twitter account OR set up a separate login for Pinterest.

If anyone wants a prompt invitation all you need to do is have a friend already on the site enter your email address and you will be invited immediately. If anyone wants an invite, PM me with your email and I will submit it on the site.

It took me a while to get it - but now I like it :) I'm using it for "ideas" - I like to do a lot of DIY home improvement, and it's really nice for finding pictures. For instance, I want to redo our weird stairs - they are painted off white, with industrial rubber "slip guards" and then the walls are 3 different kinds of wall paper. I search pinterest for "stairs" or "painted stairs" or "stairwells", and browse the pictures - when I see something I might like, I "pin" it to a folder, and keep on looking. Then, I can go to the folder, and look at all the ones I pinned, and see from there what I want to do (which right now I'm thinking of taking off the slip guards, and then painting a stripe like runner along it, and have some ideas for painting to make it look roomier - the stairway is really narrow).

I use it too, and I like it.  I too have tons of bookmarks.  With Pinterest, I'm not just reading a website name and trying to figure out why I bookmarked it, but I am seeing the picture that made me want to bookmark it in the first place.  If anyone else wants and invite, feel free to PM me too.
