I have been using or trying to use the Golden Marlin fly bait to dispatch a few raccoons that have tried to dig their way into my chicken coop with little success. I have been placing a good sized handful of bait on a lid and then pouring a little cola on that for attractant, then placing that in a live trap to keep it way from our cat and dog just in case they wander off into the woods while we are not looking. Just a bit of a safe guard. So far the raccoons have flipped over one trap but have eaten the bait and the other trap I caught a raccoon and it was still alive when I got to the trap. It must have been a super coon because it took five .22 subsonic bullets to the head area to kill it. The bait part is what is bothering me though. I hate for them to tip it and get it on the ground for other animals to possibly eat and it is not killing them like I have heard it will. Does anyone know if the ingredients have changed?
