Peafowl jumping on vehicles :/ SOLUTIONS??

Thread Starter

Recently our peafowl have started jumping on our vehicles and scratching them up.  As a result we haven't been letting them out.  I love letting them out and watching them though.   Would it be ok to clip their wing feathers so they won't be able to jump up on and scratch the vehicles?

Thanks!

8 silkies, 10 OEGB, 4 pigeons, 5 pheasants, 3 peafowl, 1 dog, 2 cats, and 4 goldfish   I have silkie eggs available if anyone is interested!

They can jump that high even if clipped.

1) Put the hose with holes in hose, along the hose, on cars and when peafowls are on cars...turn the tap on so water will spirt from hose, to birds and peafowls get a fright.  A shinker work by spirting the water in anywhere.
Peafowls don't likes get wet.

2) put the big (not real) snake ( made of cloth, stuffed with sand) on cars, as peafowls are wary of big snakes.

3) Herd the peafowls seaval times each time peafowls get onto cars.

4) Hide inside your car and sound the horn each time peafowl get on car.

Do not clip the wings as they can jump 4 feet, with clipped wings.

our peacock enjoyed jumping onto my trailblazer and would look at himself in the window BUT
he only did this if the car was parked in the yard, closer to the house...if it was parked in the
driveway he wouldn't jump onto the car but look at himself in the truck bumpers or shiny door
panels of the car.........

maybe try parking farther than usual spot or different spot all together??

good luck...I understand your situation...

This simple solution is the best. smile That's what we did to keep the Guineas and turkeys off.
