I can get part of what you observe purely by how I access the brooder.  When I tower over bitties and visit infrequently they are flighty.  When I access from side, visit frequently, and move very slowly and offer live food they must appraoch me for they are much tamer.

Make every effort to understand your chicken's biology and the environment that supports it.

I have 2 10 week holds that like to snuggle under my "wing " (my arm). Its super cute.  One did Peck me in the eye though ... thought my bang was a worm hehe

My life is a wonderful zoo! 1 Jack Russel TONY, 1 Rat Terrier BRIDGET, 1 Porcelain D'uccle (Victor), 2 Easter eggers (Clara and Loraine), 2 evil barred rocks and 2 two month old Speckled Sussex hens (Kate and Pippa).
