Killing Threads *rant* - Page 130

What always scares me at this kind of an event is when two three year olds decide they want to hold the same bunny. You have to act fast, really fast.  

Oh, we're on it, JD, trust me. For one thing, everybody is sitting down on the floor - the kids are much more under control that way, and the rabbits can't get dropped if they get squirmy. I wind up pretty stiff and sore, but I figure it's worth it if it keeps my rabbits that much safer.

That's good to hear! I mean the bunnies being safe, not you being sore.

Yeah, there's concrete under that carpet, y'know? I'm a few years past being comfortable sitting on concrete for 2 hours straight!

I know what you mean. I used to work under vehicles with nothing more than a piece of cardboard to lay on, now I need an ergonomic creeper.

The ones that went with me today were Mini Rex and Holland Lop. When I got back, a Netherland Dwarf was in the process of giving birth. Now, this evening, a Jersey Wooly has started pulling fur.  All those lovely warm evenings we've just had, couldn't she pick one of those? NO! Tonight we are going down into the 30's for the first time in weeks, and probably the last time until late fall, so naturally, it has to be tonight!

We sold two does today for a great price :D

Was one of them named "Pearl," by any chance? As in, the pearl of great price?

Well, both of the toy store visits are now behind us. All bunnies present and accounted for, and I am still ambulatory. It is really kind of fun, when taken is small doses. Often, I wind up handing a bunny to a parent, and they hold the bunny while the child pets it. There was one toddler today that was soo cute. She was sitting in her mother's lap, her mom had the bunny, and was worried about the little girl being too grabby with her hands. At one point the child stopped reaching for the bunny, and just gently laid her cheek against the bunny's fur. It was so sweet! Everyone just went "awww."  It's moments like that that keep me doing this, year after year.
