A month or so ago i made this post about an injured guinea keet. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=7803616#p7803616

Now

And she adopted 18 chicks!! Did you hear that? chicks not keets!!!

I hatched them in an incubator and set them in the brooder box in the coop. she somehow got inside, and made friends with them!!!
its so cute to watch them follow her around. I know she is a girl cause she finally started buckweating.

I always found it a bit fascinating with different species take the mother role. Dogs, pigs, whatever.. I've seen many examples of this. Very cool. Of course we want pics. I had a similar thing happen, accidentally shut a RIR grown hen in the garage with my two brooders and when I woke up she was fast asleep under the heat lamp while all my babies were freezing to death on the concrete garage floor. Chickens are a bit more selfish.

Very cool. I have a lavender orpington rooster that adopts chicks, ducks, turkey poults, kittens, anything baby! He mothers them and scratches up bugs and calls them, protects them from other critters etc. and they all follow him around. I bet he can't wait till spring so he can play nanny again lol.

Ok here are two pics. sorry if they are kinda blurry.
