Cat question. - Page 2

I have had 3 kids and always had 3+ cats in the house never a problem... I do keep the cats out of the kids rooms when they are babies because of the fur..

My nephew and his wife just had their first baby in August.  They also have cats. 

Hopefully I can describe this correctly.

They started conditioning the cats before the baby's arrival by petting "roughly", pulling tail, ears, anywhere on the body, for when baby begans crawling and grabbing.
Once the baby was born, one of the first outfits he wore was brought home (before mom and baby came home) and placed where the cats hang out so the smell of the new one was familiar to them. 

Happy to say once mom and baby got home...no problems.

I don't believe the cats are allowed in the baby's room but are present everywhere else in the house.

there really is NO reason to "condition" a cat to having its tail and ears pulled or eyes poked cats are smart and will get the heck out of the way when a baby is coming not to mention parents should NEVER allow a baby to pull on or grab any pet no matter how old they are "conditioning" them to it thats like "conditioning" yourself to having someone dislocate your arm your NEVER going to say "oh i never noticed it that time never even hurt"
its cruel to force pets to endure babys being rough.
i see videos people post on facebook and youtube all the time with there babys grabbing and yanking dogs faces one baby pulled the dogs skin on its head so tight the dor whimperd and the parents just laughed and told the dog to "be nice"
if you expect your pet to endure so much pain from a baby why cant you expect your baby to endure the pain from ap et when it bites back?
