"Awww...dad, I'm not tired..." He yawned "I want to pway..."

"Go to sleep, Arrow." Wind smiled as Arrow fell asleep in the grass.

"Darling, I hope you don't mind us raising Arrow. I felt bad for him...I knew his parents."

Wind awoke at dawn, refreshed from finally getting a good night's sleep. He walked to the top of the Great Rock, making sure not to wake anyone.

When he reached the top, he started speaking quietly to the Spirits of his ancestors.

"Great Fathers, thank you for my herd and my family. And thank you for giving me the son that I have prayed for for so long. I have longed for a son to inherit the leadership of the herd. I will train him as my Father trained me, and I will protect him from danger. And from Jay. Again, I thank you Fathers."

Wind bowed his head once in respect to the Spirits, then looked out over the clearing, watching as the horses began to stir under the rising sun.
