The guard kept watch over Jay, as was his job. He stood as still as a statue. The herd had pretty much become an army since the war started.

Jay was hardly paying attention to the guard, he was too busy listening to their conversation. So Night Stalker did honor our agreement He thought to himself Everything is going according to plan.

Wind ordered all of the comfort in the herd to be for Lightning. "You are to treat her as royalty. Anything she wants, you get for her!" 

 

"What about the foal, sir?" A guard asked.

 

"I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, colt." He snapped.

Lightning walked through camp, breathing in the familiar scents. A smile spread across her face.

She was home.
