I don't need to see my private messages on the side either, nor do I need to see threads I'm active in on the home page. Just too much stuff. I know what I am subscribed to, I don't care for the "carousel thing" on the home page either.. Tried to disable it - no luck. Boring, the same pictures going by till I want to choke them. Too much visual stimuli. Can't we keep the new way increased bandwidth(or whatever it's called) of the new BYC and replace everything else with the OLD BYC format. We have suffered long enough.. Do we all need to "GO BROODY", growl, fluffy up and snap till someone listens to what the BYC people really wan???

Thanks for your feedback. Let me make this very clear: we absolutely "listen" and review all the feedback we receive! In fact, a large part of the reason for the move is because we've been listening carefully to requests for the past few years and then evaluated our options over 5 months! Please don't think we aren't "listening" if because from your perceptive we aren't "doing".

This isn't our first rodeo, and we have a pretty solid track record of doing what is necessary and best for the community in the short and long term. When we moved to the old platform from the old-old platform 5 years ago, people thought it was a terrible idea, would be the end of BYC, etc. We asked them to trust us then (things turned out pretty great over the years) and are simply asking for the same now.

We recognize that we can't please everyone all the time (even though we try really hard to do this), especially with almost 120,000 members. Fortunately as members have become use to the new system we've seen a lot of positive comments and feedback. We're still bummed that we lost auctions and we still have a lot to work on, especially around performance & speed, but overall we believe the net pros definitely outweigh the cons... and that trend is expected to get better with time.

I for one don't think I've seen the home page yet, I go right to the I've posted forum, so I don't know if it would bother me. but I do know you cant make everyone happy, hopefully you can make most not unhappy. Keep up the good work. And if you don't like the home page bypass it

Same here, and it's great. I've book marked the "I've Posted" page and I start with that, then check the forum areas that interest me each day.
Sometimes I'll look at the "New Threads" or "Unanswered" to see if there is anything fresh and hot in there.

Well, looks like I joined at just the right time! I'm lookingforward to meeting more chicken people online. I'm an old chicken hobbyist/homesteader, living w/in commuting distance of D.C. (so my husband can support my habit!).
