Lost a chicken

Thread Starter

We just found one of our EE girls dead:(  I have no idea why.  I let them outside in the run today and she was fine.  I see no signs of entry by something so I don't think that was it.  I've heard that chickens can get an egg stuck.  Do you think this is why she died?  I feel really bad.

We have another girl that has a bare bottom from pecking.  I've been reading to make sure they have enough food and no boredom.  I'm wondering if a flock block might help them.

I had the same thing happen today.  No warning, but dead in the coop.  I know how you feel. This is the first hen that I have lost. sad
