The man cryed in pain, then something grey began oozing out of his mouth and nose. Driven out by the sudden blast of cold, the Scree fungus tryed to crawl over and get to a new host--Dirk never gave it the chance. As soon as it was clear of the man's face, Dirk emptied a full quarter of the CO2 in the little red tank directly onto the advancing blob. When the gas cleared, there was nothing left but a black stain on the dirt. "Want me to blast the others?" Dirk asked, wielding the extinguisher like a gun. "Don't bother," Seth said. "He was the only one who was infected. Something that happened to me about a year ago allows me to distinctly tell if someone is infected or not. When you're infected, you're able to tell if someone is among the infected or the free. I myself was infected at one point, but when I was freed, the fungus left a little bit of 'residue', if you will, in my brain cavity. The only thing it is strong enough to do is allow me to discern the free from the enslaved." The man began to come to his senses, having been freed, he was in a much clamer mood. "Lets bring him inside the ship and try to figure out what happened when he comes-to." Al said. Dirk and Seth brought him inside while Al went and brought in the other man who was outside, the one who was stone-asleep from Seth's round-house.
