Aussie roo or hen - Page 2

You sure that girl isn't hiding eggs on you?  She looks like she should be laying by now...they will find the most creative places to give you an occasion for an Easter egg hunt... big_smile.png

What's the two things they tell you are healthiest to eat? Chicken and fish. You know what you should do? Combine them, eat a penguin.

Primary breeds I raise/sell eggs and chicks from:  EE, dark Cornish bantams, silkies of mixed color, bantam cochins of mixed color, Naked Neck/showgirls, BLRW bantams, Khaki Campbell ducks, and Coturnix quail.

My BA was close to 6 months before she laid. i also discovered soon after  that she will eat her eggs if I don't get to them quickly...hope your gal isn't doing that too!

i have a hen like this, she doesnt lay eggs, and acts more like a rooster around the rest but not as agressive..and stranger yet, she is extreamly broody..she has very large wattles too..they might be cross sex .

Her comb and wattles have developed as an indication of sexual maturity. She'll start laying within the next month or so. The rest of your girls will follow soon, hopefully.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

Going back home. No internet at the house, so I won't be online as much. Sorry for any RP inconveniences.

I've heard of this before, if the hens and roosters are separated one hen will act like a male. She will stop laying, act broody or dominant, and some will even crow!
