So tiny!

I'm thinking I'd have to hatch out silkies because the adults still kind of freak me out.

Keeper of 27 hens,  4 PW Leghorns, 1 leghorn mix, 1 FBCMarans, 1 Australorp, 1 Buff Orpington, 1 Mama Olive Egger, 1 Olive Egger broody, 1 EE, a Barred Rock, a RIR, a CQ, 1 Delaware, 1 Black Star, a Splash Ameraucana, 3 W/BW Ameraucanas, 5 polish, 2 Welsummers and exactly 63 chicks of various breeds. and 25 eggs in the bator. YIKES!

One of the chicks from this last hatch is so tiny, it's the size of a Serama chick.

They're so precious at this age!   big_smile.png

I don’t have any close-up pics of the Lavenders, but they’re in the group photo.

They are huddled up towards the back of the group.

They are a very light greyish color –a very light lavender color.

Those babies are adorable!   I have a broody Silkie sitting on 5 eggs right now.  Hubby and I candled them last night and 4 of the 5 are definitely fertile.  Can't tell for sure about the 5th one yet.  It will be interesting to see what hatches as only 1 or 2 of the eggs are actually hers.  One is from a RIR, one possibly is an Australorp, and the last one could be from a Buff Orpington.    The RIR is the one we aren't sure about being fertile.
