So yesterday I got this incubater of course it has no insts, Picked it up at an auction, I know at one time it had to work cuz there were eggs in that had mummified remains gross, I cleaned it up and pluged it in the light came on so if placed the water dish in the bottom of it like it was, I have searched the web to try and find a manual to no end. has anyone ever used one of these, what do i need to watch for with this thing.

I would suggest posting a photo so people who aren't familiar with that model or style might be able to help.

Cool! That's the big Brower round galvanized goose egg incubator, aka Brower 846. Works for chicken eggs too, it holds a bunch. Even though I have Sportsman cabinets I use my Brower when the geese start laying. It works great. You will want to get a new wafer for yours. You might find one at a local feed store. If not most hatcheries or places that sell poultry supplies have them. If you have to order it I'd suggest getting at least 2 so you will have a spare. I have the instructions on a file in my computer. PM me your email and I'll be happy to send you a copy along with some helpful hints.

thank you so much I knew someone would know how to use it lol. I hope I can get it running as I run a teaching farm and garden thur The Cherokee Strip Museum in Arkansas City Kansas and I dont have alot of money and this year I am planning on giving a chick to each person that takes a chicken husbandry class and if I had to buy chicks that would get expencive. We have 25 Laying hens and 5 roosters not to mention 12 ducks, 9 gunnie hens, and 4 gossling that were just donated. It has been alot of work getting it funded and running but I am going on a year and I have learned so much from reading everyones posts

well I got the instructions, plugged it in now we wait 12 hours to see if it heats up cross you fingers

I'd watch that thing really closely. My neighbor let me borrow hers, and it was all over the place on temps. It ended up killing 6 eggs about 7 days in when the temp inexplicably shot up to 106. I would watch it for several days before you start incubating.

well Its dead, the heating element isnt working, I am thinking that it will be cheeper to buy a new one with a turner and fan I want a larger size one suggetions

I wish that Brower would start making these metal incubators again as opposed to those plastic "Top Hatches." I like the auto turning on the new ones, but they could put an egg turner in a metal one. There were some of the old metal incubators that they made that actually had the turner on the outside of the incubator, it was a manual turner, but it beat the heck out of turning each egg by hand.

I Got a bower incubator the big galvanized one and don't know if I have all the parts to it. If someone has directions and pictures of one they can email to me I would really appreciate it.

Well, you can buy heating elements for these incubators, and you can always just buy a little giant heating element as well. Whatever you do, don't junk this incubator, and also try changing the wafer for the wafer thermostat.
