Cornish x Rock space

Cool. What about the summer? I plan on trying two groups of 20. This is my first go with chickens. Any advise you might have?

They don't tolerate heat very well, we do our batch in early spring. But we are in the deep south. Your summers may be cooler. The rest of the year we process excess heritage cockerels.

We are in Montana. Should I try a batch of 20 for starters. Not familiar with Heritage Cockerals? Is this another meat bird?

They are purebred dual purppse birds uses for both meat and eggs. The cornish cross are a hybrid. It may be a good idea to start with around 20. They grow so quickly it can be a bit overwhelming if not shocking. Lol.
