platinum and silver coturnix quails - Page 2

Just can't get over how awesome those Blues looks....

 

...for the lower 48 folks, since we can't just go get some from our northern neighbors....what crosses do you think we would have to do to get that color mutation to show? idunno.gif

I've got birds and lots of 'em! Chickens, Peafowl, Pheasants, Quail....

I hope someone figures this out.... because I want some!!

Someone is selling these quails and he says that these are platinum quails. Are these really platinum coloured quails or are they another colour?

That really looks more like a light red color to me,  the silvers or blues that were posted earlier from Canada looked to be more of a platinum than that one

looks like a darker Roux...he have any sort of lineage or anything to show?

 Wife, 2 sons, 2 dogs, 2 Coturnix Quails, and  4 Black & Mottled Bantam Cochins. Getting ready to move to France, pm me if you live over there!

Do quail come in dun/khaki? That birds pretty, wouldn't mind having some of those either.

Those reds are nice, thats a colour i don't think we have in canada. I wonder what you get if you cross roux with silvers/blues. maybe thats what creates platinum.
