No that's called, doing what I ask you too for  my vote.

 

Problem is, people vote these politicians into office and then stand back and leave it to a handful of others to keep them doing their jobs. They are OUR employees and not the other way around, like they like to believe.

'If you don't do {such-and-such}, I'll see to it that you never get voted back into office'

 

 

Personally, I think this company means well, but it's method of policy is rather destructive....

I got a response from one of my Senators, and not a form one either. roll.png

He wrote,

SOPA and PIPA are not companies, they are bills. SOPA = Stop Online Piracy Act and PIPA = PROTECT IP = Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act. Yes, they were started with good intentions: prevent online piracy/illegal downloading/stealing copyrighted work. But you're right. The conditions as phrased in the bills would give the government power to shut down any website they chose if it contained stolen copyrighted work. For example, if I were to take a photo off of FeatherSite and post it here (as I do a lot for the breed guessing game and breed ID), if the government decided I was stealing the photo, they could shut BYC down.
