well, it looks like i might have a bantam cuckoo marans cockerel if anyone is interested. right now it is just over 2 weeks old but it's feathering out slower than my bantam faverolles pullet who is nearly feathered out in her back and chest! it is still early but the coloring and slow feathering on the marans is pointing to it being a boy. barnie.gif

1 corgi, 1 cat, and about 25 chickens! oh, and 1 husband going 'clucky'!
future project: bantam cuckoo faverolles and bantam ermine faverolles! LF silver laced and ermine faverolles too!
join us at the faverolles thread anytime! http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=268082&p=1

Shay20,

I have a few grow out pens that need thinning. As i'm still new to chickens, and still learning the ropes, do the birds need testing before coming to this event. Or is it the honor system of no sick birds?

Thanks.

I hope no one minds me posting this here, as the chat thread was closed. I also wanted to post here where friends could see, instead of a generic post in Pets & Livestock.

Anyone who has met me at a swap has certainly met my crazy kids, and my ever present fuzzy sidekick Dutch (my avatar, and the source of my username). Sadly Dutch will no longer be attending swaps with me. We lost him tonight. And I miss him.
