Poop board convert *warning-graphic/gross poop pictures* - Page 13

A little off topic... well - a lot really - but would that be useful in a cat's litter box???  Does it 'clump'?

I have 4 in the house and we scoop 2-3x daily trying to keep the smell down.  That does the trick - but the real culprit is the little bucket where we keep the baggies of poo till we can make a dump run.  That thing is LETHAL!   sickbyc.gif   Wondering if the PDZ covered poo and clumps would be less 'toxic'?

Yes, it clumps love.gif I think someone posted earlier that it works good for litter boxes as well. I don't have cats but the smell can't be any worse than cecal chicken poops and this stuff works great for them!!!! Why don't you give it a try and report back to us big_smile.png

Well, I just put my six 5-week old chicks in their outdoor coop last night. I used the PDZ powder on the whole floor (it's only 4'x4'), and this morning they all looked like little ghosts! Completely covered in that stuff... It freaked me out a little, and now I put a layer of pine shavings on top of it.

LOL, very funny! It's not harmful so they will be fine, they probably just had a grand ole time bathing in it.

So happy I found this!  We have an area under the roost/perch and I had no idea how I was going to clean it out! The chickens haven't made their way up there yet, but that's a different story.

Thank you for posting all of your info! We had a "poop box" system in place but completely changed everything tonight & made boxes similar to yours. I'm excited to pick up the PDZ & a kitty litter scooper tomorrow!

Thanks for all the info! big_smile.png

I had no idea this stuff existed. I'll definitely be using it in the cat's litter box and the rat's cage, as well as my future chicken coop of course. love.gif

I can't believe the difference this has made in my coop !!!   I used deep litter this past winter and after Spring cleaning, I wanted it to stay fresh and airy for the warmer months. I built a 4 inch high, 4x2 foot box with a roost board attached and placed it by making a ledge of a 2x4 boards. One on each side of my 4 foot wide coop and placed the box on them. Added some vinyl squares (didn't stick them because I'll remove them and wash them off eventually) Then a bag of PDZ. Everyday I scoop into a can and throw it in the compost bin. Couldn't be easier and I tell people the coop is cleaner than my house. It's true.  Thank You..Thank You..Thank You..for this brilliant idea. I think of you every morning as I scoop up the bits !!!!! I'll try to get a pic on here of how I did it.
