Great idea. I'm going to incorporate something like that in my coop that I am just beginning. Tractor Supply sells the Sweet PDZ by me here. Thank you for sharing your pictures with us.

Beautiful coop and what a great idea with the PDZ! I never would have thought to use it for the chicklets, although I have used it for my horses in the past. Great stuff!

Here is my silly question...what is the purple "dome" with a door next to your nest boxes? It looks like a great nest box idea...

Thank you for all the tips and pics!

Lovin' Life to the FULLEST! I adore my little Silkies and Showgirls! 2 rescue swans, a tribe of guineas and numerous other rescued critters, including my Livestock Guardian, Tony Llama...YES! I live on a farm! Praising God daily!

That is a kitty litter box lol.png I have several girls that will only lay in the kitty litter box, they prefer it over my more expensive he.gif nest boxes. Sometimes I come home to find that was the only box used for the day. I think the other boxes only get used because that one was "occupied". I will probably add another one in the future seeing as they love it so much. I got it on Amazon and it comes in several fun colors. I think they love the "roundness" as they love to turn around in circles and cover themselves in hay while laying in there.

I originally got it because I needed an outside nest box that could handle the weather. Worked great. VERY easy to clean and collect eggs from since the top just lifts right off.

I am a huge fan of sweet PDZ also. They have a website with chicken coop recommendations on it.

I use it on the wood floor with no shavings and scrape daily. However, I don't put much and this doesn't work in freezing weather too well. Also will ruin the floor eventually unless you have linoleum.

Saves me lots of money on shavings.

I LOVE your coop and roost design.

Wonderful idea! I'll definitely be doing this in the spring!

My question is how on Earth do you keep the actual roosts so poop free with 40 chickens in there? I have only 12 and my roosts have poo splotches all over them. Can't keep them clean! It's gross. sickbyc.gif

Can sweet pdz be used as kitty litter inside the house?

It looks amazing how clean it is when you're scooping.

That's also an awesome idea. Do your chickens play in it?

My chicken coop is now inhabited by chickens!
