guesses on breed for this chick?

hi there, input please! I got some straight run chicks last week, and I can identify all but this guy. S/he is about 10 days old in this picture, and was an almost totally black chick, with a reddish tint and a paler color on the belly. your thoughts on breeds? thanks! (chick on left in first picture)

I may be totally of track but they look similar to chocolate Orpingtons.

Just a thought.

Orpingtons are the best breed. Fluffy butts, huge eyes and such a friendly temperament.....what more could you want?

hmmmm....looking at pictures, I've never seen a chocolate orpington in person, and I can see it with the adults, but this chick is under two weeks old and doesn't seem to have enough yellow for that to fit. I can see the resemblance though!

I see the similarity, I think your pic is a pullet and mine is looking more and more like a cockerel.

ya mine is a pullet. shes much older now.

if urs is a sex link males are barred and girls are black, urs could be something else hard to tell at this age.hu.gif just looks simalar to mine. i say wait a few more weeks more more feathers to come in and post new pics frow.gif
