I have, in my reduced flock (due to shattering my leg last Halloween,) 2 silkies (including the homicidal maniac who killed and ate her three chicks the last time she hatched) and 5 cochins. They were ALL broody for 6 months straight last year. So I ordered hatching eggs and put them in the Octogon 20 coming on 3 weeks ago, sure that ONE of these would be broody in the second half of April. Now they are ready to hatch. ONE cochin decided to sit on her nest today. WAY to late to be safe putting the babies under her on Monday.
