I have potential good news. I don't think the one I thought had a blind eye, does. I went to pick him up with inspect his eye, from his "blind" side to make it easier and he ran away from my hand, which he shouldn't have been able to see if he's blind in that eye. His eye is still watery, but not nearly as bad, and the bubbled have subsided. I'm still rinsing his eye with saline water. Hopefully he gets better. If not, it doesn't seem to be impairing him at all.
46 eggs in the incubator. I pulled out five clears today. Still have four that look like they have blood rings. I'm waiting to see if they do or not. They are all to dark to see clearly into.
How are everyone's chickies doing today? Mine just enjoyed some yogurt. :) Now I have to clean the brooder... and them... =P
As you know I have chicks due to hatch on March 8th. There will be NO room in the brooder for them unless I move the others out. By the time they get here 12 of the chicks will be a month old and the other 6 will be 2ish weeks old. Can I move then outside to a tractor at those ages, as long as they have a lamp, still? I'm pretty sure I can and I don't see what option I have, but I want some reassurance. My grandmother has some heat lamps she offered to let me borrow when my first hatchlings were put into the incubator. If she still has them available I can get 1 or 2.
