McMurray Easter Eggers?

Here is Little Fattie my EE roo and in the background is Blondie his EE hen with some Barred Rocks. The other EE hens look the same but with puffier cheeks :) Little Fattie is extremely friendly and loves to be cuddled! The hens are skittish and flighty. All very pretty though and they came from McMurray last year. Pic is a few weeks old.

I just recently placed an order online with McMurray. I ordered the 25 minimum order. I ordered 11 EE hens. I can't wait to see what they will look like. The first rooster picture is a beauty. From what I understand, they can throw in extra "free" roosters if they want to for extra body warmth. So I kind of expect that I will get a rooster or two thrown in. I am hoping for a wide variety of colors.

@Lolita, I think I tried to answer your question but I just re-read what you wrote and realized that I didn't answer what you were asking. When I ordered 10 EEs, I also ordered several different breeds of chicks as well adding up to 25 chicks total. Then they all combined into one order when I checked out, and so will all be shipped together. Does that make sense? I didn't just order 10 EEs. Sorry I wasn't more clear! :)

My MMH EE doesn't look like those ;) lol I will take updated pics today. My chickens look so different now than they did even a few weeks ago. They are like grown up hens now... the roosters still look pathetic and scraggly though...

Ok... here is mine

You've prolly seen other pictures of her around the site. Are EEs typically this wide in adult appearance? I know they are a mixed breed type. But what breeds went into making them? And is that why some look more like one type or another?

I didn't know McMurray would do that. IF so I think they throw a bunch of rooster chicks in to fill the box and charge you an extra fee. Maybe someone who has done this can chime in. If you have any feed stores around that sell live chicks....sometimes they will let you order your with their order since they are getting hundreds. You'll have to pay their mark-up, but it may be less than the small order charges from the hatchery.
I don't know about MM but Meyer will let you order fewer than their minimum once the warmer weather arrives. But they also told me in order to get just 6 chicks, shipping alone would be $43. Thanks to a local woman on here, we are going in on an order together at a local store. The chicks will be coming from MM. I really like the look of the EE's, the ones with brown and black are gorgeous! So I think I may get 3 Red Star and 2 or 3 EE's!

You have to get 15 after April 1st, 25 before April 1st.

FYI the mottled houdans are quite fragile, 3/10 died after 10 days old. All the other breeds (Red star, Naked neck Turken, white polish, WCB polish, BR) have done really well. The BR are supposed to be show quality from McMurray, they have a good reputation on those. Crossing fingers they all turn out nice!
