Hi,

I'm looking for a Black Copper Maran breeder in Washington state. We are interested in hatching eggs and/or chicks. We've ordered eggs and tried to hatch them, but they have all come from HUGE distances away and we are having the first hatches ever. Would like someone closer to us, even something close to the NW. If you breed them in the NW area or know of someone who does I would LOVE to hear from you! Thank you so much!
 
Hi there! Did you have any luck finding BCM chicks? I am also in WA (Anacortes) and am looking for chicks somewhere in Northwest Washington. Any info owuld be helpful about breeders, etc.

For those of you concerned about shipping eggs. I find the longer distance for shipping the better because they fly on a plane, a smoother ride than hours on an overnight delivery truck. So if you must get shipped eggs to have FBCM or other breed, don't let distance put you off.

I wound up looking and looking on Craigslist and finally finding not so tiny chicks in Kelso, WA and they have been great.

It seemed like summer was flying by... and I am not an experienced chick incubator supervisor. As I started reading more and more about what can go wrong if the temp or humidity is a bit off and just decided not to go there this time. Maybe next year.

There seem to be several folks in and around Kelso with hatching eggs from the looks of the Craigslist postings.

I almost always have BCM eggs available. I also have a nice BCM cockerel available now if someone wants him. He is Wade Jean line out of Illinois. I wouldn't say he is absolutely perfect by close. I am in Issaquah, WA.
