Feel Terrible................. ran over one of my favorite hens with the golf cart : (

I have a gas golf cart with a dump bed that I use to haul all my feed around to the different feeders. I filled up one of the range feeders and proceeded to go on to the next one..... then thump. She must have gotten under the cart by the back wheel...... my poor poor girl...... I feel so horrible. At least she went quick and didn't know what happened..... but I'm just sick about it. Only I could run over a chicken with a golf cart.....  hit.gif

Awww crap!!  So sorry that happened!!  hugs.gif My girls get under/around my car all the time, when I'm getting in it to go somewhere, and even when I pull back into the driveway they run over.  I always worry about hitting or running over one... That really bites - accidents happen.  Don't beat yourself up over it.

Caretaker of a lovely mixed flock including: australorp, plymouth rocks, wyandotte, d'uccles, silkies, EEs, andalusian, and a few seramas, plus a golden retriever, great dane, and three cats.

hugs.gif That's rough. I can imagine how you're feeling about it, but don't punish yourself for an accident, okay? You say she went quick, so she probably didn't suffer too much.

so sorry, ours were free ranging today near the car when I had to go pick up my son, I tried to shoo them away, but they like me, so more came running to see if I had treats.  So sorry, I feel we do our best to prevent accident but sometimes, it still happens.  Sleep knowing it was just that, an accident, peace. . . .

I know exactly how you feel - just awful!  I backed over one of my girls a year ago or so, because I was in a hurry and I thought they had all moved away from the car.  She hadn't  It was awful.  I felt like such a jerk.  I had looked in all the mirrors, rear and both side mirrors and out the windows, too.  But she ducked under the car behind the front wheels.  You didn't even have mirrors to check, so how could you have known?
