Banny's 3rd Monthly Poultry Contest
This is a contest where you will post a picture of your bird, and tell us how your bird is a very good bird. There is no prize, but the winner gets to be claimant to the title of 'winner of Banny's 3rd Poultry Contest'.

Here's what you can enter...
-Large Fowl Chickens (all breeds)
-Bantam Chickens (all breeds)
-LF and Bantam Ducks (all breeds, except...)
-Muscovies (all colors)
-Gamebirds (any species; this includes guineas)
-Pigeons (all breeds)

Here are the Categories:
-Hardiness


-Independence/Vitality

 

-Practicallity/Fecundity
 

-Esthetics
 

-Friendliness

 

These month there will be a 'best in show', picked from all categories.

Here are the rules:
-No entry limit
-Bird must be owned by you or an immediate family member.
-Don't forget: there is no limit to how many pictures you enter, but if you only enter one bird, you only have to fill out one form, so if you have ten pictures of the same bird, you don't need to repeatedly fill out the form.
-That's it! Oh, one more thing:

Just fill out the form in Post #2:

Name:Willowbranchfarm Category:Friendliness Birds name:Jet Birds class:Large Fowl Chickens Traits: Jet is so sweet. Is is the nicest rooster I have ever met. I carry him around play with him. And the hens wont do that with me. Jet is my buddy and he always will be. He is the best rooster ever.

Thank you for entering. He's very nice. Light Brown Leghorn X Australorp? That's what I assume, given his coloring (E/e+)

I don't know what he is. He was supost to be a australorp but don't know what happens.

Bird's Name: Penny

Bird's Class: Buff Orpington

Traits: Penny was rescued about a year ago from a small, cramped pen where she was abandoned... she is half blind in her blue eye, as you can see in pictures.  She is a sweetehart when it comes to friendliness - she will come running when you call her name and will nestle right into your shirt and fall asleep!

Bird's Name: Gloria

Bird's Class: Barred Rock

Traits: Gloria was rescued from the same place as Penny, in a small, cramped pen.  She is known for her famous "Gloria eye", as you'll see below.  She may look mean from the pictures, but she is a totally love bug.  She is a mother to Penny, guiding her around and helping her find food... and sits at our backdoor everyday to watch us and wait for us to open the door for attention.  (Her foot was stepped on a by a horse when she was young, so in some of the pictures it looks nasty, but it is healing up.)

Category: Esthetics

Bird's Name: Nellie

Bird's Class: Buff Orpington

Traits: In her last home, Nellie was bullied badly from the other hens and in a result, lost all her tail feathers.  We adopted her and soon she became part of our flock.  She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES food and will do anything to get it, even if that means jumping 5 feet in the air to snatch it out of your fingers!  (Or try to snatch your finger, ouch!)

Bird's Name: Lil' Lucy

Bird's Class: Bantam Black Australorp

Traits: Lucy came from a home of 200+ other hens and roosters!  She was extremely small, as she is a bantam... all the other chickens were standard.  Her beak is crooked to the right a few inches, which thankfully doesn't affect her eating abilitys.  She loves to be petted, and will jump on your arm, shoulder or back if you kneel down!  She is 4 months old and still makes chirps and peeps.
