Okay, so I never win these but here goes..

Dixie is always my #1 contestant for best chicken contests. She is so lovable and sweet.

She is my 10 month old barred rock pullet. Though she has never been great at laying, her personality is worth 10 eggs a day!

All of her flock mates give her head hen spot without her even having to work for it. Dixie gets along with EVERYONE. No nipping, no bullying. She is second or shared in command with my head hen, who is her BFF.

She puts up with all the kids in the neighbourhood. No matter how awkward they hold her...

She is the best chicken in the world to me. I can tell you right now she's made a vast improvement to my everyday life. Love that chicken! love.gif

Orpingtons are the best breed. Fluffy butts, huge eyes and such a friendly temperament.....what more could you want?

I have six lovable hens: Luna (6 year old red star), Buckbeak and Asha (young black star sisters), Sage (my lone surviving white leghorn), Bedazzle (my grey/splash EE) and Pepper (my silver laced wyandotte)!

I also have a dog and a hedgehog :)

R.I.P Ava, Sprite, and Hedwig (Sage's siblings) Redtail, and Apolla.
