I started out refusing to name my chickens, BUT my first 3 are still called, "The Black one" , "The other black one", and " the little black one". I did name my rooster and keeping with the Harry Potter theme of names for my dogs...He is Sirius Black.  The only other one we refer to by name and not color gets called Nosy Rosy or Lil' Biddy.  She is a curious thing and likes to untie my shoes.

We do not have the greatest names for our birds. I did not want chickens but my husband brought them home and a year later I am the "crazy chicken lady" lol. They are my babies and need to come up with some better names for them. More coming this spring too celebrate.gif so I need to start coming up with some good names.......

We currently have:

Big Red- our rooster and daddy to our babies

Big Black - EE

Medium Black

Mother Hen - broody hen that hatched two chicks

Peeper - hatched from mother hen- loved listening to her peeps

Goldie Hawn- Friendly, outgoing, flashy lady

Annoying One- loud hen that talks too much lol

Annoying One's Little Sister - quiet, smaller and identical to her sister

Cuckoo - hen that looks like a cuckoo maran but lays a light brown egg- our adopted chick

And to unnamed beauties- which is why I am on this thread big_smile.png

Rehomed:

Bald Black - never ending molt..... need I say more? But when we gave her away- she had started growing all her feathers back. I bet she is a beauty now....

Peep - first chick we hatched in our garage with Mother Hen. Mysteriously passed away last week hit.gif She was my favorite....

Handsome- adorable rooster we rehomed

Big Guy- another young rooster we rehomed

Mother to 4 children (2 step), one redbone coonhound mix, 2 spoiled house cats, easter eggers, several barnyard beauties, variety of  marans, and a whole bunch of chicks.....
