So Happy to Find New Chicken Friends!

Hi everyone!  frow.gif  I just joined BYC tonight from Joplin, MO.  That's why I chose the user name HereInOz because (1) we're in the Ozarks and (2) I thought for a minute I was going to get to see the 'Land of Oz' when that EF5 tornado hit last May!

I don't have any chickens yet, but have 15 Lavender Orpington eggs and 2 Golden Buff Orpington eggs in the incubator set for a staggered hatch, Groundhog Day for the buffs and Feb 8th for the lavenders.  I never would have dreamed hatching eggs could be so exciting...and nerve-wracking. barnie.gif  With only 6 days to go I'm more and more nervous and doubting my incubating skill.  That's what led me to BYC, reading all the forum posts has helped to ease some of my edginess.  It is great to find new friends who are chicken enthusiasts, thank you for sharing your experience here on BYC it is invaluable to beginners like me! smile.png

frow.gif & welcome-byc.gif from Alabama. Glad you joined us. You sound like me the first time I hatched out eggs smile.png I was a bundle of nerves, but incubating gets less stressful and easier once you get past that first time. Lots of good luck with your eggs and hope you have a great hatch thumbsup.gif
