Some questions about these peafowls [patterns on wings]

Hey everyone !

So I've been browsing my pictures of peafowls I've seen in Zoos and all (because that's all I can do to see those beautiful birds), and I've been wondering about a few things.

First, what's with these peacocks' wing patterns ? Is it because he is still rather young, or will it stay like that ?

I thought maybe it was because they were young, then again when I look at mature and yearlings/juveniles, and compare them, I'm not sure if it's likely or not :

These were taken recently at our local zoo


I'm pretty sure it's just something that'll disappear with time, but yeah...you guys know better than I do.

Thanks in advance, it might not even be anything big, but I'm just...very curious to know the real answer no matter what it will be.

There was a topic a while ago were we talked a bit about peacocks like that but I don't remember the name of the topic...I learned from that topic that the bluish black on the wings like that can mean that the peacock is split to blackshoulder. Maybe one parent was white and the other was a blackshoulder?
On the ones in the topic we were looking at, the peacocks would have a wing were the visible un-folded part was half blackshoulder looking and the other half was barred. I see ones like that at the zoo a lot.
 
Those places are in Australia, and we don't have black shoulder peafowl here. I would say they are mature, because they have the full green patch at the base of the neck/back area........ And the one from your local zoo you can tell is younger because it hasn't developed the "green patch" And the mature male on the last pic is certainly the standard IB, so perhaps the green "bleeding out" into the barring could be the start of a new mutation (if developed?).... Emerald barred peafowl? LOL, but is certainly different.
 
Yeah, the one at Alma park had the white flights, though the one at Dreamworld didn't, so when I thought maybe it was because of the dark pied genes and all, well I then thought maybe it's not the reason to the dark feathers on the shoulders.

And just like MinxFox I also thought maybe they had some split to BS in them but then again, I wasn't sure at all.
But if you say you don't have BS in Australia, Bemba, well, since you have Greens, maybe there's a very tiny bit of green in those peafowls then ?

That would be interesting if it could be a new mutation, though one would have to steal the peafowls from the Zoo to develop it if it's the case

I thought of the Japanned peafowl too, but the dark feathers aren't as obvious as in the Japanned peacock so I was curious...

I didn't find any IB from the Peacock-Kingdom breeder ...Maybe Peacocks Australia have them but I'm not sure if they are reliable...>.>

Yes thats not the marking of split bs. .the area would be smaller and black.
Maybe a mutation . Be nice to work with.
