The swans come by to check out the new neighbors . . . 3 photos - Page 2

We live in Northern Wisconsin, when we bought our land 6 years ago the previous owners had raised and released a pair of swans on one of our 3 large ponds.  Well we still have those 2 swans come back plus about 15 more every fall. They are gorgeous birds!  They stay for up to 3 weeks and then as it gets colder they  move on. I will have to try to get pictures  this fall :)

Oh, I wish we had ponds!   And it would be neat to see the same swans come back year after year.  My daughter tries to convince me that we NEED a pair of swans, but I point out that the wild ones work out for me just fine -- all of the beauty and none of the work . . .

Pictures would be great!  I wonder - what kind of swan are they?  We only get trumpeter swans here - they sound like a flying orchestra - but I think there are other swans in the East - maybe Mute swans?
