50 h -Embryo turns on left side; allantois (embryonic membrane that fuses with chorion) begins. Functions of chorioallantois are: a) respiration; b) albumen absorption; c) absorption of calcium from shell; d) storage of kidney excretions.

     60 h -Nasal pits, pharynx, lungs, anterior limb buds begin.

     62 h -Posterior limb buds begin.

     72 h -Middle and outer ear, trachea begin; amnion completes growth around embryo.


Day 4:  Tongue and esophagus begin; embryo separates from yolk sac; allantois grows through amnion; contractions occur in amnion wall; adrenal development begins; pronephros (nonfunctional kidney) disappears; metanephros (definitive or final kidney) begins; proventriculus, gizzard, ceca, large intestine begin. Pigment visible in eye (dark eye).

Interesting... but I'd just not mess with Mother Nature...

 

Definitely a learning experience...

Keeper of 26 hens,  4 PW Leghorns, 1 leghorn mix, 1 FBCMarans, 1 Australorp, 1 Buff Orpington, 2 Mama Olive Eggers w/ 15 chicks each, 1 EE, a Barred Rock, a RIR, a CQ, 1 Delaware, 1 Black Star, a Splash Ameraucana, 3 W/BW Ameraucana pullets, 5 polish, 2 Welsummers and 41 juvies of various breeds. YIKES!  Time to SELL some chickens!

thumbsup.gif This is an interesting and cool experiment! I've never heard of a Kordon breathing bag before

Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas, Blue Copper and Splash Marans, 1 EE, 1 white Silkie hen, 1 Dominique pullet. 2 cats and 2 dogs. Homesteader, organic gardener.

Day 5:  Reproductive system and differentiation of sex appear; thymus, bursa of Fabricius, duodenal loop begin; chorion and allantois begin to fuse; mesonephros begins to function; first cartilage present.

The rubber egg didnt work, I poked it open and the yoke was brownish yellow and very tough. It look like it did start to grow but stopped. The egg skin was hard to break threw, and was leather like.

 

Only three things are left, the two eggs in the bag and the window egg, which both are doing great.
