Ok I counted 28 chicks.

6 broody chicks.jpg

6 broody chicks

3 quail chicks.jpg

3 quail

8 chicks.jpg

8 chicks in the container, I had to put them in the container because they're the smaller ones and kept hiding under the larger chicks. I couldn't get a good pic to be able to count them all.

11 chicks.jpg

11 chicks

I'll post a pic of my chicks tomorrow. I didn't have the chance to do it today with being sick and helping dad finish plowing the garden.

Chickens: 4 RIR, 1 HRIR roo, 1 BA hen, 13 AGF, 2 BA/RIR, 1 EE. Ducks: 1 Mallard drake and 8 little Coturnix quail. Everything else: 6 dogs, 6 cats, a pot bellied pig and one stubborn Mustang that rules the field!

Living happily with Blu and our son on the way.

RIP Ducky and Bob

She's a sweet little thing. She has a a hobble on to try to correct a foot and leg issue from being in  tiny eggs. these were tiny birds in tiny "first" eggs from my Legbar pullet. I am happy to have her and hope the leg does well. It is way better than it was last night so I think it will be fine.

Her beak is fine, just a weird camera angle.

Now that's cute..and legbars?  You have them.  You sell them?  LOL....put me on your list when you are selling!  Serious.  big_smile.png

Wonderful family, very understanding husband when it comes to chickens, dogs, birds, one big Golden Retriever, and thankful to the Lord for all!

Chicks in the brooder are looking good and my blue sumatra was digging in the feeder to get feed and it looks like it's stopped the 'agonal' breathing so YAY!  Only got 7 eggs today, but, my Icelandic laid her 2nd egg in  3 days so maybe she'll start producing again.

My kids are getting too attached to the puppies, in fact DS, who will only be home for another year and a half is insisting we keep the little male... I AM NOT HAPPY about that. I'm hoping I can talk some sense into him.  I have to admit that the little bounders are cute but they turn 8 weeks next Monday and I say it's time they go.  We'll get them their shots, the female goes to a family the next street over and I want to give the male to one of my patients.

I had male dogs while I was growing up, but we lived on a farm.... and we simply cannot have TWO dogs.

I don't even want to count how many I have.  I say unless they are laying, they don't count!

Ahem, you like chickens, he likes dogs.  :)   Our son that will be home only until around Oct./Nov.  loves his little dog..that I got for myself, and he took to him, well, they took to each other.  My DS will miss that dog while gone for two years..and I can see that little dog standing up on the chair by the big window watching for him every day for a looong time.    Will have to have to have a video of when he gets home!
