As such, I'm excited to be home looking at the front end of a 3 day weekend. Unfortunately boyfriend works the whole weekend and the holiday, but that means lots of relaxing for me, I think.

I'll be on my way tomorrow to go to a friends cow farm to pick up some cow manure for my garden. (Yeah, I should have put it in in fall... instead I did chicken poop and a cover crop.) I went two weeks ago and they had a 3 day old calf that was cute as can be... can't wait to see how it's grown. Excuse the grimace, we hardly get sun in winter.

It was not, they had it drinking out of a pail. Hope that's the right answer, my knowledge of cows pretty much consists of:

1. They're cute but they do excrete a large amount of waste

2. They're surprisingly full of mucus.

3. They have incredibly long tongues

4. They make milk

5. Mooooo

Edited to add 6: the metal thing over top of them is electrified!

What does it say about you that you lead with "they're cute but....."   Can't "they're cute" have it's own number....I mean, c'mon let them at least be cute for one numbers worth!  Does "they're cute" have to be soiled with "waste"?

ChestnutRidge & Crazyeggs-

I tried a spreadsheet, unfortunately I didn't seem to keep up with it as well.

Chookschick-

If I didn't try and stay at least a little organized, it would be a HUGE mess!

I also LOVE the hints your are sharing!

Spangled-

I used a spiral notebook last year and this year I am using a binder, I just moved last years notes into the binder.  I can tell you my hatch rates have gone up dramatically!!!

Buckabucka-

Wow!!!  You are record keeping royalty!!!!

I know that all of this is about 48 hrs late, but I missed all of yesterday and most of today on the thread.  th.gif

I don't know - but there may be a few that started up there but have slid.  I've been to the east and the southwest in the last few days.  I'm getting jetlag wink.png Anyway I could just stay put up here?
