Just a suggestion.. go to Lowes or Home Depot and get an LED light bulb, brightest one they have with a regular size screw in base to fit your fixture..  The LED gives off practically no heat so you don't have to worry about cooking your eggs when you candle them.  A 200 watt incandescent bulb is going to get really hot in that little box...    I made a similar one last year with an LED and it works great..even on dark maran eggs..

You don't have a cone for them?

OK, HERE IS MY TIP.   someone said that you need heat to have the turkeys lay...........   not true!!!!!!!!!   you NEED LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!   you need to give the turkeys 14-16 hours of light a day and you will have eggs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    you need to do this NOW becues the turkey eggs in to go in the bater on march 10th.

Thanks for great photos, ChesnutRidge.  Incredible.  We talk about them all the time, but it's the first pore I've ever seen.  Now ... how many pores on a large egg?

Here's a pictures of the one my friends use.

Plucker 1.jpg

Basically it's a poly barrel cut off, rubber fingers are added, said barrel is bolted to a washing machine motor in a wooden frame (for stability).

Set the contraption on "SPIN" and viola, plucks a scalded bird in about 10 seconds.
