I read a lot a lot. I can sit down and read a big book in 4 hours. If the book is in a series, I have been known to readathon for an entire weekend, and then complain that I am fat with an aching back.

Don't blame the rooster!  The sex of chicks is decided by the female in chickens!  Not what most folks think (chickens aren't mammals, so the daddy doesn't determine the sex).

I've decided I am going to make a trip out of meeting BYCers after I have retired.  I think that would be a great vacation trip!

(Psssst: I retire in just under six months.)

*Sigh*  Very quiet in here tonight.  I moved hatch #3, now 2 weeks old, out to the brooder in the layer coop today, after moving hatch #1, now 6 weeks old, into the nursery coop.  Hatch #3 was (were?) collectively delighted with their new larger accommodations.  Hatch #1 is still undecided about whether they like being in a "real" coop but they all (only 4 of them) managed to fly up to the roost like big chickens when it was time for bed.  The monsters in Hatch #2 (4 weeks) have not quite outgrown their brooder in the shed but will be moving in with Hatch #1 in a couple more weeks.  By that time Hatch #4 will be ready to move outside so that there will be room in the house brooder for Hatch #5.  The Easter hatch will be Hatch # 7 (4, 5, & 6 are in the incubators now) and I am still on two waiting lists for Russian Orloffs that I hope to hatch this year.  th.gifI think I'd better get started on another coop . . . and maybe another brooder too.  hide.gif
