Ok, first, I am going to apologize that you may see this posting more than once.

My mother-in-law is in the hospital.  She has been for a few days.  She is REALLY sick.  Today I found out what is all going on, and they are still doing more tests.  She has blood clots in her lungs, with pnuemonia, and her heart is only outputting 14% (not sure of terminology) and they did a CT scan of her chest and found a HUGE (their words) mass in the center of her chest that is pushing on her lungs and heart.  They are still running tests to find out if the mass has spread to other parts of her body, and are taking surgery.  So we will be making a trip to Texas tomorrow morning as soon as I can rent the car.

What this means is that my chicken stuff is on hold.  I have my parents coming over to take care of everything, and there is a lot of that stuff going on, with eggs in the bator and chicks in the brooder, but I wanted everyone to know that I plan on getting my swap eggs out on time, and meeting up to get eggs, and swap pea chicks and pick up chicks.....But if I can't do it on time, I will make it right. smile.png

My email addy for BYC goes to my cell phone and so if anyone needs to get in touch with me, please send me an email.  I get the PM notifications too, so you can also PM me.

Thanks for understanding.

Tonya

I'm so sorry, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for her. If you have any questions on the anticoagulation portion of it (for the pulmonary embolism/lung clots) let me know...

So... instead I'm in the process of making bread, herb artisan and white loaf. I should be cleaning out the chicken coop but it's a slippery alternating with muddy mess out there and I just don't wanna.

You can buy seeds and grow your own poppies

Sounds like a snow machine for the DH would be a fair trade for all the chicken enabling he has done!!

Best wishes to Tonya and family. pray.gif

I have 3 Wheaten Ameraucana broody mamas here right now. I just broke 2 others, as well. They are broodier than SIlkies, I swear! All the chicks (except one) are Olive Eggers, sired by a Lavender Ameraucana.

But people look at you funny, LOL.

Oh, and being of Finnish descent, I have to pronounce sauna as sow-na, which is the correct Finnish pronunciation.

Honestly Deb I couldn't figure out what was wrong with your pronounciation! Really, It is a-mend.  Being that I'm a Finn-Swede and definitely eat my share, well, my Finn-Swede share, of almonds!
