The reason they have the little cover on there is so you don't put an egg there. The egg might get damaged if it hits the motor, plus the motor produces heat....meaning it will overheat the egg in that cup, and it will die. I've never actually tried it though... Good luck!

Ok no time to catch up but here is what I have already set.  I set them at 12:45pm but have been running errands and doing chores since then, plus the power went out for a bit so I had to deal with that, so this is my first chance to post.  I have set 53 eggs so far and have another 40(?) I believe to set on Tuesday.  Not gonna drive in a blizzard to set them on time but they will go in late Tuesday, since they aren't being shipped, as soon as I get them home.

Oh except for my 6 BCM pullet eggs (probably won't hatch but I had ro try) these are mixed eggs with an EE roo.  The 40 or so eggs I will be getting on Tuesday are 1 dozen BCM eggs plus 2 dozen red shouldered Yokohamas, from sewandgrow plus (maybe) a few EEs and OEs from Kim/Wolftracks as well.  BTW if you are hurting Kim don't stress about it!   hugs.gif

I will update pics on Tuesday.  Now to try and get the forms from page 1 filled out.

Don't miss the new Nevada thread pages here!  These pages are in their infancy so don't hesitate to send me suggestions for additions or improvements.  Just be kind... I'm old and technologically challenged.     LOL

The humidity paper in the Brinsea Octagon Advance EX incubator is a strip of special paper suspended under the inlet (outlet?) of the water pumped to the incubation chamber. The strip is folded lengthwise into a V shape, and when the drip of water hits it, it is drawn into the paper fiber and spread out to increase the humidity as necessary.

You have to replace it with fresh paper for each hatch.

I can't find where I put my supply of it "to be safe."

Buncha Outdoor PET chickens, ducks, two Toulouse ganders, and four turkeys. Plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and a rescue cat which owns me. Oh. And a house silkie....

Ok, question, I need to complete my form but it is asking for how many chicks will hatch. Is what we put there the brinsea contest? I was hoping to know total set first.
