Well, my experience is pretty limited, but last time I had 10 hatch, and 7 were roosters. If I have that kind of luck again, I'd be happy to personally deliver some roosters your way!
Those were the same wily roosters that busted free in Gardiner at the butchers.

Those instructions are for resetting to factory defaults. That is not a bad idea since by now the poor thing could be quite confused.

 

After resetting it, you can adjust it up or down without the light flashing three times. I would turn it off unless you were resetting it to factory defaults.

It probably is much too early, but figure the worst that can happen is to have replant the three, four foot long rows [and I'll plant the rest of the 30 foot rows,  plus others,   later anyway].  If it turns out to be a freaky, early spring and summer, there is a chance I may have the first corn-on-the-cob around.        I quit growing peas back in the 80s, too many early heat waves cutting the season short made buying fresh frozen seem the thing to do,  and a good asparagus bed provides plenty of pea like flavor to put up in place of peas. Most of my garden will be in the three sisters this year, with some tomatoes and melons on the other end.

 

I am buying into the early spring too, and I know better.

 

I haven't planted anything outside, but I hoed my gardens up yesterday and today. Turns out they're still totally frozen below about 2-3 inches of thaw.

 

I have started some seeds inside waaay early, just in case.

 

 

 

I had way over 200 posts to catch up on today. I went fishing with my dad, my cousin and his son in law last night and today we all ran all over the place trying to find either some place to swim or somewhere that had a grill. I'm pretty sure I have sun poisoning (sure feels like it) and all I want to do is sit in front of the computer and keep up with the posts.

I haven't planted yet (although with 70 degree weather it sure looks tempting!) but I started getting my fencing ready and we're going to till out our area next week or the week after. So I can kill plants earlier this year! :)

I got all of my lettuce and spinach in the ground on Friday, as my back is still reminding me. . .  I don't start killing plants until mid-summer when we have week after week of no rain what so ever and I get behind in watering.  The early greens are easy and I can't wait to start harvesting!

We just barely had a surface freeze this winter, no frost left in the ground even on the north side of my buildings, and my jonquils are in full bloom. It will probably be a buggy year here.
