I set them around 8am this morning.  We had to go to town and when we left around 11am my temp was looking stable at round 99.5 to 100.0.  We came how about 3 hours later and the incubator with the silkie eggs was at 103.2 and the Muscovy eggs was at about 108!  I think the silkies probably have a chance but the duck eggs??  Did I fry them?  :(  I'm hoping because they had just started maybe they will be okay?  Oh and Muscovy eggs take 35 days!  :O  I need another turner!  I am getting more duck eggs tomorrow.  She will give me all I want but I still hope I didnt ruin these.

Hopefully your thermometers were off.

Mine were on and I went over 15 hours with the temp at 97 or below and everyone kept telling me to be positive so I'll do the same.

Start it back up. Set the temp for 100. Monitor it every hour as long as you can and hope for the best. It's all we can do.

Alrighty then. I've really learned alot about my Genesis 1588.

How did I finally get it to stablize?

I took it back to where it was.

While the incubator was plugged in, I

1. Turned all switches off

2. Turned on 2, 4,6 & 8 switches.

Let it blink 3 times... 3 times.

3. Turned off the 2, 4, 6 & 8 switches.

4. Turned on the "6" switch.

5. It's been stable at 99.8 degrees now for over two hours. (this is with the Brinsea Spot check)

I have 3 other thermometers in there. one says 99. 4, one says 99.2. one says 100.1 and another says 100.

I'd guess I've arrived. I'm not opening that bator again until the 25th now when I do my first candle.

I'll just add warm water through the tube whenever the humidity gauges say it's less than 30.

WAHOO!

Wouldn't it be cool if I hatched over 30???

Thanks guys.  Hopefully they will be okay.  I have been monitoring the temp and adjusting it until I finally am holdind around 99.5 for the last few hours.  Fingers crossed, I can't wait until I can candle them.  Does anyone know if duck egg are more oily than chicken eggs?  I have noticed from turning them that their shells feel less rough than a chicken egg and almost have a oily feeling to them.  Good Luck everyone!  Will it be too late if I fill out the participation form tomorrow?  My internet is better at work.  lol.png  With my slow country internet speed it might take me all night to figure out what I am supposed to do.  We don't get high speed out here.

Bantam Red Cochins, Mille Fluer D'Uccle, Free ranging guineas - Pearl, Pied, Buff, Violet, Lavender.  One RIR hen and one Black Australorp hen (Henny) who is a spoiled rotten pet.  Variety of Maran babies.  One great husband, three kids, and two dogs.  I'm a chick-a-holic so I have an ever changing number of feather kids.

Cynthia, where in Utah do you live?  I grew up in Genola. Do you know where that is?

I have dial up . THe form is very simple.  You should be able to fill in info in about 3-4 minutes, thinking required.
