Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long! - Page 643

Hi all! Quick question about humidity. It's anywhere from 44 to 50 and I want it to be lower, my room temp is 70-73 and not by bath room. I'm using little giant still air. I did add water day 1, because I was going to do the 55% humidity hatch, but then read up on dry hatch and changed my mind. I would really like to do this Without opening it up. I'm kinda scarred. Because I'll know I'll candle them. Or mabye a few. Ahhhhhhh! Please help.

Wow, if I had known that I would have such an awesome experience with hatching, I would have done it sooner. I have one white egg that I decided to monitor since they are easier to candle and this is my first time hatching. I took it out tonight, into the pitch darkness of my bathroom where I have been (attempting) to candle my eggs, and there under the paper thin shell I could see a tiny heart beating. I have NEVER felt so humbled as when I thought about how I was holding that small life in my hand. I actually got a little emotional! Geez, I'm probably going to be a wreck when I start a family! Lol Thank you to everyone on this thread for helping me (and everyone else) through this hatching experience, even though it has just begun!

A wise man once told me that duct tape can be used to fix anything. Well, it doesn't work on mufflers.

Beautifully said....I, too, look in wonder at the tiny lives inside the growing eggs and feel emotional to see the movements within.  Just wait until you see the little beak and feet moving!!

Thank you, dsqard, for my cliff notes! They saved me a lot of time.

So sorry chick-among-us for your loss! I have to say that is an amazing photo.

Keep the candling photos coming, chestnutridge! After being totally discouraged by the horribly spread out air cell that I saw in my Ameraucana egg yesterday, I candled a different one today, and it looks pretty good (if I didn't wreck it by moving it about to candle!).

I need to sleep now. Goodnight.
