I don't think I even want to know how far behind I am now
I have been working hard and then playing with my ridiculously cute puppy. My big guy just adores her, I'm glad he finally has someone that will wear him out. I have to separate them for either one of them to get any sleep.
In other news, I candled
I'm happy to report I only pulled 5 eggs. 3 Icelandics (2 clears and a quitter) and 2 AM's (a clear and a quitter)
I couldn't really see into the Marans and all my swap eggs looked good, 1 turkey looks good, one looks questionable and 1 I just can't tell, it's so heavily speckled.
Now my incubator is down to 76 eggs. I just started turning the shipped eggs this evening and I will be turning all by hand. I have a turner but it only holds 42 and I'm afraid that stacking the shipped eggs might further compound their challenges. The seem to be doing good so far, so if it's not broke...

Yeah I really like it, but they need to add more than chickens and ducks.

Oh and Cynthia, I teach an investigator class every Thursday for the full time elders here that are assigned to Spanish speakers in our stake. *we have 3 hispanic branches. I had about 4 investigators there along with another 18 new members.... and I ended the lesson with that story and there wasn't a dry eye in the place.

Yesterday I had a patient come in that unfortunately is loosing it mentally... of course I suppose I am too!
Well that reminded me of the fellow who was walking along the sidewalk where there is a fence surrounding a grassy field in area just to the west of a state mental hospital. As he was walking along the fence he could hear a group of people chanting and cheering loudly from the other side,
"13", "13", "13"... "13"!
Wondering what all the commotion was about he came to a spot where there was a hole in the fence so he stopped to peer through and see what was going on.
As he did so, someone from the other side poked a stick through the hole and right into his forehead... and it hurt!
As he backed away from the opening, from the other side of the fence he heard the entire group jump and chant,
"14", "14"...... "14"!!!!!

I candled this morning since I was up too early as usual.. ALL of my non-shipped eggs started, one had a blood ring so that was tossed. One of my own leghorn eggs I had upside down (whoops!) but looks like a big strong baby. Shipped eggs not doing as well - out of 24 eggs there are 7 pretty definite clears - left them in for now and will check those again in a few days.
Of course this is to be expected in shipped eggs - some of the others are questionable, but may still be OK.
The only one tossed out so far is the definite dead one but I am pretty sure on the clears so I'm probably eight eggs down so far. Most eggs are doing great so far, even in the styrobator. My leghorn mutt eggs (even upside down) have huge healthy embryos!

GOOD MORNING HATCHERS!
If you're going to be in Maine this weekend, it's MAPLE SYRUP WEEKEND!!! All the syrup houses will be open for tours and education... and of course for purchasing maple syrup products. It's going to be a slow year for syrup with the weather...
AND I'M SUBBING FOR NOT A FARM WITH THE COUNT TODAY. SHE WENT OFF TO JOIN THE DELAWARE DESTROYERS.
We have 15 days left to
