How long has he been in there? I only ask because a year-old heritage boy I was just getting ready to a-dress has suddenly started really stepping up. After being a bonafide girly-man prior to this, he has impressed me with his turn-around. Perhaps your dud will turn dude once he's forced to be with these girls for a long time?

Clearly I have no idea what I am doing. They all look like eggs. When I shine a flashlight into them, they still look like eggs- only then they look like glowing eggs. Well I am down to 19 eggs from 42. There was no development happening in the ones I tossed so I am guessing they weren't fertile. Oh well.

I have 1 Lovely Husband, a Colorful Chicken Flock, French and English Angora Rabbits, 2 Bichons, and 1 Mangy Rescue.

You just never know what kids are going to think! lol.png When we served Thanksgiving dinner the adults asked me who we were eating and I would answer in a whisper if my neice or nephews were around, but when dinner was over my 5 year old nephew hopped down from his chair and said "Lancelot was delicious!"

Hmmm.  I wish I could remember where I read that they're now thinking that chickens may mate for life or at least form some attachments that can last a lifetime.  Obviously, the roosters would mate with more than one hen for life.  It's not like they're Canadian geese or something.

Wait a minute!  Have you turned your video on to run continuously?  I left the window up from yesterday.  These are the noises I'm hearing coming out of my computer that I think could be coming from your video:  shuffling, spoon clinking in a cereal bowl, shuffling, someone opening a beer, squawking of young dinosaur, refrigerator door shutting, shuffling, dog bark, someone opening another beer, squawking of young dinosaur, barking, more metal scraping on ceramic, some snapping, sound of someone taking a bite of an apple, and more shuffling.  I'm feeling a little voyeuristic.  (I am not saying that you're opening beers in the morning or squawking like a dinosaur, but I am hearing sounds like that coming randomly out of my computer.)  I hope you do have your video/audio playing LIVE or I've got a really odd computer virus.

 

The incubator is still in view, barely, but it's very dark in the room.  It says LIVE up in the corner and that it's been on for 2 hours and then that it's been on for 3 hours.

I think he is just in love with the read heads.

Sorry hugs.gif It looks like I only have three right now. I will give it a few more days before tossing the ones I was unsure about. I had a few clear ones.

This weekend I snapped some shots of my dominant roo, Carl, canoodling with his favorite hen, Rebecca. They groom each other, roost next to each other, she has refusal rights! and there is what certainly LOOKS like affection between them.

He's got King's Rights to the whole flock and often exercises them, but Rebecca can say no and he just finds another concubine; she's his First Wife and beloved partner. (She also laid the egg which Buffy hatched for her to produce my very first GrandChick, nearly two years ago.)

I can't post any photos from my iPad today, but I'll put them up this evening when I get home.

I have witnessed the very same thing with my birds. There is always a favorite sister-wife and it's terrible to break up those relationships, so I generally don't. 

 

I'm about to give away a roo ad will have to give away his favorite, as well. They're in loooooooooooooove. love.gif
