I'm so excited. I get to meet Mary (NotAFarm) tomorrow. Why, you ask. Mary is kind enough to rehome 2 trios of her Icelandics to me. Thanks Mary.

Plug it back in and walk away!! I know I told the story of my broody who sat on the wrong nest in an 18* October fluke, right?? Well, I had seen her off of the nest mid-morning, and when I went to lock them up around 7, she was on the wrong nest (full of golf balls). I flipped! I put her back on and searched and everyone said put her back and hope for the best. I got chicks! It's amazing how resilient mother nature has designed this system. Have faith.

THAT is why I double-box and ship in major foam. Holy moly.

A great save when all the real milk and half-and-half are gone is to keep a few cans of evaporated milk around- not sweetened condensed, evaporated. It actually is VERY good.

If you can pay the shipping and for a box, they are totally yours. Super-sweet, but I'm out of room and I don't want him breeding in my separated flocks. I don't want him eaten, of course, though she can go in wherever. I'm happy to send them as a pair. She's just decided to sit again, but I can pull her off. She'll do it again within weeks of arriving, I'm sure!!

PM me your zip for an estimate if you're serious!!

I have the same model and found out that my hygrometer was reading 10 points lower than actual humidity.

That's the white bread recipe I use all the time.  In fact, I've won the white bread class at my fair with that recipe for at least the last five years.  That is the loaf I was making which started the whole discussion of bread baking on this thread, many, many page ago, March 5th to be exact.  The only thing I've tweaked about it, is I add 2 Tbls nonfat dry milk.

Wow, this bread baking has really come full circle!

I have got to try this!  Someone gave me this recipe a few months ago and I never got around to it.  I need to make time to do this, it looks scrumptious!!!

Oh no Kim!!!  I'm so sorry!  I don't know what to say.  I wish there was something more helpful than "I hope they are all right" but I do hope they are all right!  Remember this happened to me the hatch before last (with your and Karen's eggs) and I was absolutely sick over it!  I did still have a few hatch though.  The eggs apparently didn't get as warm as the bator got.  I so hope that is the case with yours too!     fl.gif

LOL!  That is perfect!   *hahaha*   Your frizzled chick is definitely the cuter of the 2 chicks though!!!

Goooood morning hatchers!

Glad the yorkie is being treated. And Kim... no idea what to say. Every time I hatch with you you end up having some kind of incubator tragedy. Wonder if having an electrician come in would be beneficial? Maybe you're having power surges? hugs.gif

Hope everyone has a great day, I'm off to work!

I'm just now trying to get caught up with this thread.  Casa de Pollo... you are living my NIGHTMARE!

After CE Hours classes, I was supposed to go to Mesa to get some Oxine and some antibiotics.... then my wife put me to work.  I was either at my office or on the road between Home Depot and my office the entire night.  All of the sheet rock and taping is done, new light and fan installed, porch light replaced.... a real pain as it's one of those expensive fancy ones..  Still need to cut granite to fill in some spots on the floor, get the plumbing done, and then after the sanding, Painting and setting up the TP holders etc.,.. etc... and then CLEAN the office so it's ready to go on Monday AM.... Plus, I still have 8 hours of convention to do tomorrow and meeting with my boys tomorrow night.  Bators are still humming along.. I didn't even get a chance to go out and gather eggs... later..

Dont give up on the cold incubator eggs. My hen came off her nest-as in unbroodied herself- in December! When I discovered it the next day, the eggs were so cold- I thought for sure they had frozen. I only had a week to go until hatch, and I brought them all in- and put them in the incubator. In my haste, I didnt even give them time to come to room temperature and warm them up gradual. Just BOOM into the already warm incubator.

They hatched!

Its not over, until its OVER.

Good luck!

Good Morning All,

Couple of ?'s here.

I candled last night and could see developing air sacs and movement in all but 2 eggs.

Being my first time doing this it seems like the movement is probably a good sign?

The eggs are so thick that I can't make out a whole lot else.

Do I need to candle one more time before lock down?

Thanks for any input.
