hatched chicks.

Hello,

 

 i have 2 RIR chicks that i hatched exactly 4 weeks ago. one chick is alot lighter then the other and hardley has a tail that has been growing really slow as well as the rest of the feather. it stands alot more erect then the other chick does. those indications had me belive it would be a rooster. well the chicks are exactly 4 weeks now and the light chick hardley has a comb and no wattles coming in yet.

 

the other,darker chick had a 2 inch long tail by 2 weeks and has feathers almost everywhere. this chick has a more defined comb then the other chick,oh and this chick has one eye that has no eye lid. i go more face shots of the lighter chick that i though was the male but what do you folks thinkk?

The chick in the bottom picture has a lot of comb growth for 4 weeks. I'm guessing that's your boy. The others are too early to tell, might be pullets. Where did you get the eggs?

The remaining 6 of my original 7 barred rocks are 3yrs old and happily divided between a friend and my mom.
Laying: 2 Partridge Rocks, 1 Columbian Wyandotte and 2 Black Australorps. 14 weeks: 3 bantam Araucana.
Cowed to chicken math and sharing my bedroom with 8 BBS Ameraucana mixes.

these were hatched from ebay eggs.
