Meyer hatchery - Page 2

One thing I'll say about Meyer is they are honest about the birds they sell.  Some hatcheries show the best breeder quality chickens as their display then send you a dozen hatchery quality.  The pictures on Meyer website were pretty spot on to the birds I got from them.  All of my birds arrived healthy and happy.  Overall I was pleased with them.

Thanks for all your posts on Meyers.  I've been debating on placing an order with them.  Plus I'm only in MIchigan, which should make for a quick shipment of peepers.

Mom to 3 boys (really, one is my husband), 1 orange dog, 1 RIR, 1 Australorp, 3 Isa Browns, 2 Buff Orps, 7 EEs, 1 BR,  2 SLWW, and 2 leghorns.

Is anyone else concerned about the new supplement Meyer is giving chicks before shipping?  It's called Oasis and the first ingredient is soy.  Of course, that means GMO soy.  I cancelled my order with them and am buying from Hoovers Hatchery.  It ended up even being $3 cheaper on 25 chicks.

Thats doesnt bother me one bit. But what does bother me is that I lost 5 Meyer chicks in 48 hours and zero chicks from Ideal (which was delivered the day after the Meyer chicks). When I called to let them know of the 1 DOA chick the lady was super nice but when I called at the 48 hour day to tell them about the 4 chicks that had died since getting here the lady was kinda snotty and acted like I was lying. I took pics of the dead chicks and offered to email them to her and but she didnt want it. She ended up crediting my account the cost for 3 fry pan specials and not the 2 golden lakenvelders and 3 fry pans. So basically I lost money. In the future I will go with Ideal or TSC.  To me customer service is everything. I could care less about GMO foods.
